Helping people find their natural beauty is my passion. I have been in this industry since 2000. In May of 2007 I was able to live out my dream in designing and opening of Southern Elegance.
A upscale salon experience combining Southern Elegance and charm at a reasonable price.
My goal in creating a salon was to have a place that everyone would feel welcomed into. I have been blessed with a passionate staff that have helped achieve my vision. I have always believed if you love what you do you never feel like you work a day of your life. I love my job!

Debbie Ryans
Debbie RyansStylist
Hello! My name is Debbie Ryans and I am a native of Kingston, TN. After graduating from RCHS, I attended the University of Tennessee, although I had always wanted to do hair. I graduated and entered the workforce, never fulfilling my desire to be a hair stylist. Years later, during a trip to Atlanta, a stranger watched me create an up-do on a friend’s hair and asked me where my shop was. When I told her that I didn’t do hair for a living, she commented that I had missed my calling. Her words stayed with me and, months later, inspired me to enroll in the Tennessee Technology Center at Harriman to pursue a career in cosmetology. While attending TTC, I was very involved in SkillsUSA, a national organization promoting technical education, serving as SkillsUSA Tennessee Post-Secondary Vice-President and competing in two areas: Job Skills Demonstration where I placed 1st at the school and state levels, and 8th nationally, and in Cosmetology where I placed 1st at the school and state levels, and 6th nationally. After graduating, I worked at Belleza Salon and Spa in Knoxville before joining the staff at Southern Elegance. I am currently enrolled in a Cosmetology Instructor course in order to obtain my Instructor’s license. I love being a hair stylist and I feel that God has placed me exactly where I belong.
